StudioChris Celebrates Chicago Neighborhoods with Amazing Posters

Posted on April 4, 2012 by Be Chicagood

Awhile back we’ve talked about Steve Shanabruch and his awesome The Chicago Neighborhoods project where he will be tackling each and every one of Chicago’s neighborhoods and be giving them a logo.

You can’t applaud Steve without applauding Chris. Chris of StudioChris is also tackling each of Chicago’s neighborhoods but will be doing a poster that represents an iconic landmark of that particular neighborhood. Now that’s Chicagood!

Each poster is of an iconic landmark unique to a particular Chicago neighborhood that represents the history and identity. Born in the southwest side in the Clearing neighborhood Chris developed a passion for art, architecture and graphic design. Merging them all together Chris conceived the idea and made it a reality in May 2011 and has been painting for the project since.

The posters are screen printed on earth-friendly, recycled paper to give the prints a hand-crafted feel. They are visually amazing and if you have a particular roots that you want to represent these posters would make a great presence in your office or home. They also come as greeting cards if you want something a bit smaller.

We love how designers and artists are stepping up to connect people with the neighborhoods of Chicago. We Chicagoans especially love representing and celebrating our individual neighborhoods. To that we say:
