Posted on February 14, 2012 by Be Chicagood
Chicago is the home of some of the best architecture in the world. There’s no doubt about it. Chicago has always been at the forefront in great architecture and now The Chicago Architectural Foundation has launched a free online tool for aspiring young architects and designers.
DiscoverDesign is a digital space for you to explore buildings, gain new architectural skills, solve your own design problems, share your ideas, get feedback, and connect to an online community of other teens, teachers, and design professionals around the world. They offer a wide range of challenges and to make you think about space and architecture around your own schools.
This is an amazing free resource that will help facilitate great ideas and discussion for architecture by tapping into a largely unknown world of creativity and imagination possessed by young students. It will also give our future problem solvers and thinkers for our homes and city development an invaluable head start.
To start things off, a competition has been launched welcoming students to redesign their school’s cafeteria. Check out the rules and best of luck!
